134 venues across 34 areas — from city-centre convention floors to country estates.
Limpopo is known for safari and bushveld conferencing, with game lodges, private reserves and rural resort venues clustered around Polokwane, the Waterberg biosphere, and the far north near Mapungubwe. Events here tend to be destination-led — executive strategy sessions, incentive trips and team retreats rather than city-centre conferences. Polokwane itself has established hotel conference facilities for delegates flying in from across the country, with direct flights from Johannesburg.
Limpopo is South Africa's northernmost province — Big Five bushveld, baobab country, and a conference profile dominated by destination-led safari and retreat venues rather than city conferencing.
Polokwane. The provincial capital is the only city-style conferencing centre in Limpopo. Direct flights from Johannesburg via Polokwane International keep the city accessible. Hotel-conference clusters around the CBD and Bendor handle provincial government, agriculture-sector and mid-sized national conferences.
Waterberg biosphere. Bela-Bela (formerly Warmbaths), Vaalwater, Modimolle and the broader Waterberg malaria-free reserves (Welgevonden, Mabula, Marakele) host SA's most accessible Big Five conferencing — within 2.5 hours of Johannesburg by road. Lodges here cater for destination conferences and incentive programmes that want safari without the longer Kruger commute.
Bushveld and the far north. Tzaneen, Phalaborwa (Kruger Park gateway), Louis Trichardt (Makhado) and Musina extend conference options to the far north. Specialist venues at Mapungubwe and along the Limpopo River cater for heritage, conservation and academic events.
Lephalale and Mokopane. Industrial conferencing for the Medupi power station and the Mogalakwena platinum belt happens around these centres — transactional rather than destination-led.
Transport and climate. Polokwane International handles direct flights to Joburg. The N1 highway is the spine of the province, running from the Gauteng border up through Polokwane to the Beit Bridge crossing. Climate is hot summers (often 35°C+), warm dry winters with cool nights, and wet season game viewing best from May to August.
