Destination brief

South Africa — a conference host that punches above its weight.

Strong currency for international delegates, world-class venues in three major hubs, wildlife and wine within 90 minutes of most boardrooms. Here's what planners should know.

01 / Regions

Three hubs, three reasons to come.

Most corporate events in South Africa land in one of three metros. Each has a personality — pick the one that fits the tone of your event, not just the flight path.

02 / Seasons

When to host what.

Southern hemisphere seasons — book 6+ months ahead for peak windows. Shoulder seasons are the planner's secret.

Mar – May
Autumn
Peak corporate season. Book early.
Jun – Aug
Winter
Dry, cool, excellent safari. Lowveld & Cape quiet.
Sep – Nov
Spring
Jacarandas, whales in the Cape. Second peak.
Dec – Feb
Summer
Avoid mid-Dec to mid-Jan — leisure overruns corporate.
03 / Logistics

04 / Extensions

The post-event add-on.

One of the reasons delegates say yes to a South African conference: you can bolt on three days of safari, wine-tasting or coastline without a second flight.

Safari from Joburg → Kruger or Madikwe, 45-minute flight or 4-hour drive. Wine from Cape Town → Stellenbosch or Franschhoek, 45 minutes. Coast from Durban → Umhlanga or South Coast, 20 minutes. We can build the extension into your shortlist if it's part of the offer.
