The 4-star Devon Valley Hotel is tucked into a quiet pocket of the Stellenbosch winelands on Devon Valley Road, with most of its 50 rooms looking across vineyards and olive groves towards the Helderberg. The property has been running since 1943 — the main building is original Canadian Cedarwood construction, and the design has stayed largely intact. Five conference venues, all naturally lit by floor-to-ceiling windows onto the vineyards, scale up to 120 delegates and combine the SylvanVale Rooms and the Platters Room with smaller breakaway spaces. All rooms are fully air-conditioned and reconfigure for U-shape, schoolroom, cinema or banquet. The Flavours Restaurant handles meals — a la carte, vineyard-terrace al fresco, or Sunday lunch buffet. For organisers, Devon Valley is the more characterful choice in Stellenbosch's mid-market hotel set, with the 4.4-star Google rating and a steady stream of weddings reflecting the setting's appeal. Cape Town International is 35 minutes.
