Forest Lodge is a four-star lodge in St Lucia, KwaZulu-Natal, with a new conference and events venue for up to 120 guests. The lodge sits in the town of St Lucia inside the iSimangaliso Wetland Park World Heritage Site on the Elephant Coast, about 200 km north of King Shaka International Airport and within easy reach of Richards Bay, Hluhluwe and the wider Zululand coast. The conference space is purpose-built and versatile, designed to take meetings, conferences, workshops, corporate functions, team-building days, year-end functions and special occasions. It comfortably seats 100 to 120 guests, which makes it workable for both smaller in-house gatherings and larger corporate events. The room is fitted with a large wall-mounted presentation screen and reconfigures between schoolroom, classroom, theatre and banquet layouts, so the same space handles a strategy session by day and a gala dinner by night. Year-end functions and gala dinners are a particular focus. Forest Lodge does not work off a one-size-fits-all package; the team prefers to build each event around what the organisation actually needs, from catering through to layout and decor. On-site accommodation makes residential and multi-day programmes practical. The lodge has 17 en-suite rooms sleeping up to 34 guests, each with a private patio overlooking the tropical forest that is characteristic of Zululand. Rooms come standard with air-conditioning, safes and tea and coffee facilities, and raised timber walkways connect the suites across the subtropical garden to a sundeck and swimming pool. There is a dining room on site and off-street parking. The owners also run a safari company holding concessions for open-vehicle game drives in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park and iSimangaliso, which gives organisers a ready-made incentive or team-building add-on that most conference venues cannot offer. The property runs energy-saving appliances with solar backup power and draws on borehole water.
